Pull into the car park and look across to the beach, a mound of pebbles to ascend. Get to the top and take in the views, Weymouth, Portland and the beach which goes on for miles and miles along the Durasic coast.

This was one of our views. It is hard going on the shale, but an excellent walk if you are up to it though the full 22 miles in one go, not anymore.

Nice place very unusual natural beach with exceptional views in all directions. There are areas where the Dorset wildlife trust monitor/protect the wildlife.

This is one of the wonders of Britain. You can walk along it and the views are mind blowing. Drive up to Portland heights and look along the beach, wow! If you want to know more try the visitors center and get a coffee. Really...More

Beach was very clean and vast. However the cafe and toilets were closed which seemed daft as it was school half term and it was very busy. Still worth a visit though!

A natural wonder that has to be seen. On a clear day maybe best from the height of Portland Bill. It would be very hard work to walk but a good alternative is the Coastal Path which has many viewpoints to see the bank and...More

Could happily stay here for a few days although keep an eye on the tide and don't leave your stuff on the beach when the tide comes in like we nearly got caught out. Stunning child friendly beach and area

Hi - a question about West Fleet Lagoon. I am thinking of booking a cottage which is within walking distance of the lagoon at West Fleet. We will have our dogs with us and they like to get into the water - are the banks of the lagoon muddy or are they more like the seashore where our dogs can go in without getting covered in mud. Our alternative cottage is further west with access to the beach rather than the lagoon and we will book that instead if the lagoon has muddy shores. Thanks

Sorry, No Idea. I suggest you contact the Aqua Hotel. We stayed there and it seems that it is a hub for Divers. The staff were really helpful for us. Tel 01305 860 269. Post Code DT5 1BT.
