We have friends who live close by, and suggested we meet them at the gardens, and they were right, a super place if you have the time just to wander. Well worth a visit

These water gardens are stunning and are easy to find at Chickerell, just two miles outside Weymouth. They are not heavily advertised, so could be considered to be a hidden gem. The reconstitution of Monet;s painting is excellent, without the crowds you will get in France. They have some 150 different types of water lily. A must visit site.

Food reasonable but excessive. Very clean and friendly, but don't expect any bargains. It would be better if free access to water Lilly lakes was included in your drink ...food etc

Be prepared for walking on soggy grass ! but its worth it, lots of individual ponds full of different coulour water lilies. DSucks seemed to have their home there as well. Therees a cafe and a gift shop. All quite low key.

Visited this garden during our recent trip to Weymouth. You would think we were artists, staying at Rembrandt Hotel and now visiting this image of Monet. The gardens were converted from clay diggings for brickworks in the 1950s to grow water lilies commercially, original plants coming from France - hence the Monet connection. Much work has been done over the... More

We spent a very relaxing morning walking around the lakes and sitting and looking at dragon flies and people. Not suitable for young children because of the deep water.

You only need a couple of hours as the garden is fairly small. However, it is absolutely stunning and was a welcome relief on a very hot day. We had a lovely cup of tea in the café and the staff were all delightful.

The gardens have recently been taken over by younger members of the Bennett family who have injected new life into the business. A few years ago a new restaurant was built on the property and they applied for, and received a wedding license. There is a Monet bridge spanning one of the lakes which is marvelous photo opportunity for weddings... More

Shady spots with nice breeze on day I visited. Great photograph opportunities. Monet bridge replica. Pleasure to be there. Clean and neat everywhere. Loved cream tea sitting outside with view of ponds.

An oasis in a busy seaside town. Lovely when the waterlilies are in bloom, but I'm sure it would be a peaceful place, even when they're not. The Monet bridge and pond are lovely, and it's a lot cheaper than a trip to Giverny! It's not huge, but there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the waterlilies, and... More
