It looks as though some repairs have been completed to this amazing Cross. Do climb the steps and read the inscriptions to some very brave men.

On the green in Sledmere. A reproduction of an Eleanor Cross used as a war memorial. Its getting a little difficult to read the brass plates but worth the effort and the Waggoners Memorial is next door.

Originally a simple village cross, this has been transformed into a very intricate memorial. It is well worth seeing and is just one of the lovely things to enjoy in this tranquil and charming Wolds village.

This is worth a quick look if you're passing. It's a village cross (but way more ornate than your average village cross), converted into a war memorial in 1919 (thank you wikipedia)
