I attended the art fair at Sledmere. What a gem. The event showcased local artists displaying their art. The event was fantastic full of great art and inspiration. Followed by a lovely walk around the grounds and cake in the cafe. A perfect day.

We met up with our son and grandson on the last day of half term holiday. We met in the car park surrounded by trees in all their Autumn glory. We started in the cafe with coffee and cakes then visited the stable block .Horses ,carts, tack and the history of the racing stud. Then we walked to the walled garden... More

Just enjoyed a truly spectacular firework display with fairground rides , food and drinks available and live music. The evening was rounded off with equally amazing organisation at the car park. I have never got away from an event like this so quickly. The attendants (and there were many) efficiently organised cars leaving the area to be away in minutes.... More

Just called in for a drink and a scone. It was lovely, freshly baked scones with butter, jam and cream. Pot of tea, with an extra pot of water, didn't get enough milk though had to ask for extra. Lovely local bottle of apple juice. Only about 15 tables inside and about 6 outside. Was warm enough in the sunshine... More

Great place for all. You can visit the house, garden, grounds, or just the garden. I often just pop in to the cafe and/or farm shop. I love the cafe, a lovely place for a nice snack or meal. The gallery across the road is also well worth a visit, and has regular visiting artists and change of theme. You... More

Not the biggest and swankiest of the stately homes, but warm and welcoming with a "lived-in" feel. The house is a fine example of Georgian symmetry but this "stiffness" disappears as soon as you enter the house to the sound of organ music and friendly voices. The paintings, the library and the chapel are quite splendid in their own different... More

A fantastic house, with a lovely organ being played on a Sunday afternoon in the lounge hall area. Wonderfully kept and a nice chapel to visit. Ample woodland to walk a dog in on a lead. Loving the walled garden which is developing and maturing all the time with a lovely summer house. Gorgeous roses and modern garden boarders as... More
