It was very difficult to find but once we were there it was an awesome experience and the place was really interesting. There were lots of demonstrations. Although we didn't speak French like natives we were able to get the gist of what they were saying. The cafe was great, amazing food.

I really wanted to love this place as it is just the sort of place I’d love to visit in England. Indeed it is a beautiful spot, situated in stunning countryside, and very tranquil.
Unfortunately I found it very difficult to absorb the history however because of the lack of English information anywhere. I have conversational French but couldn’t understand any of the demonstrations which were very heavy on talking. I would have been happy with English info panels, but the paper guide was very thin on info.
We did really enjoy the multiple Breton games which were lots of fun. A nice couple of hours but I sadly would have got a lot more out if it with more info

First of all it was a rainy day which did not help but this place was somewhat disappointing. There were few staff and demonstrations to tell the story of the 1850’s although quite a few of the building were quite interesting but of course all the script was in French. Must say however I could not imagine similar places like the Black Country Museum or Beamish Museum in Britain having descriptions in French so no British person should complain.
The Cafe/ Bistro looked good and the food smell was great - not very big though and with the rain was full up with a long queue to get in.
No as good as the leaflet depicted but was relatively low cost entry and would probably be much better with fine weather as you could enjoy the outdoors and numerous picnic areas

Thank you for sharing your visit impressions. Indeed, the weather this month of July is really terrible and did not help much to reveal the beauty of our site. We take note of all your comments as part of our quality approach. Hoping to see you again under a great sun :) Best regards

It seems I am not the only disappointed visitor. This was my 4th or 5th visit and I was almost embarrassed to have praised Poul Fetan to my visitors, given the poor experience this time.
The entrance fee is the same, no matter when you visit. Unfortunately, the offering at the end of June this uear was very limited, with wide gaps between quite short activities and no animals to speak of. As for 'joining in with the work of the farm' as the English language leaflet puts it - one has to ask "What work?"
The restaurant was certainly not up to the standard I have experienced on other visits.
The staff who were present were all very friendly and doing their best, but it is clear that the management has forgotten how to maintain a good customer experience. The new entrance/shop is nice, but it is very badly situated, particularly for someone with limited mobility and is little more than a more widely spread version of the old entrance.
I will not be returning soon - nor will I recommend Poul Fetan again. It's such a shame to see this descent into a poor shadow of its former self.

We are very sorry that your visit was not able to give you satisfaction, especially since you seem to be loyal visitors. The month of June has as many events as those of July or August, with the difference that in summer the events are doubled because the visitors are much more numerous. All the animals are always present in the village, in various places and with free access. It is true that the participation of visitors in the activities is limited again this year, we are only applying the instructions related to sanitary distances. Same thing for the restaurant... Which should return to its plate service from 2023, we hope. We will pass on your comments as part of our quality approach. Best regards

the village and information are only in the French language. The animals seems to be dead because we could only find a chicken and a rabbit.most of the demonstrations are spread out during the entyre day while visiting the village is done in about an hour. So our visit was defenitly not worth the money.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit to the village. We will not fail to report the information concerning the installation of explanatory panels in English in the village. We thank you for your interest in our animals, know that they are all in very good health and distributed in various places in the village; in Poul Fetan, you can find cows, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs and a horse. Indeed, the entrance price is justified by the number of activities presented during the day and not by the visit of the village... Have a great summer !

Poul Fetan is a reconstructed Aincient Village peopled with characters who can tell you about the various buildings and activities. All well in theory but the appearance of the characters is spread widely throughout the day. If you wanted to learn everything there is not enough to keep you engaged whilst waiting for the next session. It is interesting to explore the buildings but more interaction would be better.

We were staying very nearby. I love social history, so in my element the site is well laid out with plenty of demonstrations and explanations. Easy to spend the day here. Restaurant busy when we went, if it is high season, perhaps take a picnic as the nearest town is some distance. You can also walk down to the river below

Very well restored with information leaflets in English. The traditional Brecon games was a hit with all the family with the girls winning all the games & plenty of choice so even though it was busy you didn't have to wait long to try them! Dogs allowed. Disabled access was a bit hit and miss with some paths hard to navigate with a wheelchair & buildings difficult to get into. We couldn't go to any of the demonstrations due to lack of disabled access to them - maybe they could hold some outside? The boulangerie was excellent with a range of tasty breads & cakes.

This is a great place to visit. First of all it is in the middle of the most beautiful countryside with fabulous views. There is loads to see and do, it is really interesting and there is plenty to keep the kids entertained, in particular the traditional Breton games. I highly recommend eating in the bistro or restaurant. We only had snacks but the main meals looked and smelled absolutely wonderful! I've got to say that those reviewers who have complained about the fact that nothing was in English should have taken advantage of the audio guides in English (free with the ticket price). These were excellent and provided detailed commentary on most of the places around the village. Failing that they should realise that they are on holiday in France, where people speak French and they shouldn't be so arrogant as to presume everything will be translated into English for them.

My family roots are in Brittany and it was a charm to pay a visit at the village of Poul-Fetan. Everything is perfectly done and the guide was very entertaining and telling a wonderful story driving us from house to use and learning about people life in those days. A place I'll most probably visit again and highly recommend to all of my friends visiting France and Brittany.
