Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fermanagh is full of lakes due to it's westerly position on the island and a very high annual rainfall. The king of the lakes is Lough Erne. Upper and lower lakes are joined at the lovely town of Enniskillen from which you can explore both lakes. Set aside a day to travel around each one.
The larger lower lake is the most spectacular and should be seen at a leisurely pace in order not to miss the numerous view points and photographic opportunities.

Lovely place with diverse activities. Something here to appeal to most people: boating, fishing and even swimming

We traveled to the Lough Erne in July 2020 which of course is during the Covid 19 pandemic. Things are of course different but still enjoyable.

Going away for us was a tough decision because of the pandemic but having talked to the staff in advance and reading up on the measures on Facebook our minds were eased. The hotel has went to great measures to make customers feel safe, all rooms are cleaned with Zoono and rooms sealed before guests arrived, the door there is a temperature reader and sanitiser. Waiting staff also wore masks as expected! The pool and spa area need booked in advance and guests are allocated slots and encouraged to change in the bedroom, we really liked this because there was less people in the pool area so could get into the hot tub, steam room and sauna whenever we wanted.

The bedroom had a fantastic view, we missed proper cups and glasses but what would you expect during a pandemic.

We will stay again!

We drove alongside this lough on our way to Donegal. It is beautiful. I really wish we had had time to go back and explore it by boat.

It is one of the best lakes in Ireland but rich too in diversity and wildlife. We have been twice once when it was wet and once in beautiful sunny weather. The place has an ambiance all its own.so there is always something to do or somewhere to go whatever time of year you travel or weather you encounter. If, like me, your a keen ornithologist Lough Erne is one on the top spots to visit in Northern Ireland especially for water fowl..

The Erne Waterway is a maze of islands, rivers, lakes and all things associated!
We were fortunate to choose an amazing week of wall to wall blue sky and high temperatures. Many of the islands have jetties although some jetties do not actually connect to their specific island!! Crom Estate is well worth stopping at with lovely walks and coffee shop. Watch out for water skiers and jet skies and of course do your navigation carefully.
For some reason those with dogs seem to think that dog poo can be left on the islands close to jetty areas. Quite disgusting really.
If swimming be careful - one of our party was swimming close to a jetty and 'found' a submerged huge piece of concrete about 8 feet from jetty. He was able to stand on it! Not good if deciding to dive in from jetty...
Most trees are deciduous so the landscape would be dramatic in Autumn time.
Local people are friendly.
Enjoy

We hired a cruiser and spent a lot of time cruising Lough Erne, I would highly recommend hiring a cruiser and taking in as much of Lough Erne as your time allows
