Not worth going unless you see it rise and lower, i must admit i didn't realise it wasn't static. There'sa timetable of these occasions which seem to happen about 12 times a week. Nice view from Baltic 5th floor.

A true architectural marvel! You'll want to see it from every angle! The way it is curved, and how it's suspended, it makes sense but still it remains fascinating seeing it and more so walking across it. And views it offers of the river, Sage Gateshead, and the numerous bridges are unsurpassable!

It's nicknamed the winking eye bridge quite simply if you video it in action and speed it up, it winks. Pedestrians and cyclists only.

The bridge has cycle path and walker paths. There are seats at intervals on the bridge so you can sit and take in the views of the other bridges and quay.

This bridge has won many awards because of the unique way it opens and closes to let tall ships through, and rightly so. It's iconic and well worth a visit. Well, really, you just walk over it, but it does operate several times a day, and if you cross it from the Newcastle to the Gateshead side, you get to... More

Walked over the bridge numerous times during our stay. We were lucky enough to see it be raised whilst we were around. A definite must see. Looks beautiful all lit up at night time too. Absolutely stunning

Lovely attraction, nice to walk across and take good pictures of the iconic Tyne Bridge. At certain points of the day you can see the bridge "blink" which is well worth doing.

Walked across this to visit the Baltic art centre. This was much better. Good views from the middle of the bridge. Cycle path too.

If we want to see how the bridge rises to let the boats pass, we must be very attentive to the schedules, this is changing depending on the season of the year, the most visited days are weekends, but I do not remember wrong is the 12 and in the afternoon at 5 I'm not sure about that.
