Was lucky enough to be visiting when a Geoffrey Dashwood exhibition was showing. Sculptures were breathtaking. Hence only 4 stars as it is not a permanent exhibition and with these very little to see. Good modern cafe.

The Museum has recently been refurbished. It now has a lovely cafe and a beautiful gallery of amazing sculptures. But the museum area itself is now about half the size it used to be, much more sleek and streamlined, but less hands-on for children. We...More

Thanks for your review Gill. We re-opened to the public on 29 July, this was a great success and we've had lots of feedback. In the 'old' St Barbe we added interactives and activities to the display areas over time and with the 'New' St...More

It's a pity this is a bit off the beaten track as increased passing footfall would no doubt be a great financial benefit. The museum part, while rather small, is a neat little encapsulation of the history of Lymington and the surrounding area with helpful...More

The museum has just been renovated and reopened. I first went several years ago and the renovation has really improved it. At the moment it has a good exhibition of New Forest bird sculptures. Well worth a visit especially on a rainy day.

The newly refurbished Museum and Gallery's opening exhibition is amazing. The bronzes of Birds of the New Forest by Geoffrey Dashwood are quite spectacular. Each work is beautifully executed and the whole exhibition is enthralling. The permanent gallery is very interesting and gives an insight...More

Just off the high street and easy to get to it appeals to young and old. Just being refurbished it is an important part of Lymington.

It is ok for a small town. It tries to invoke some feeling of age and experience where Lymington is concerned. Nice people run it, very helpful too.

A small museum with friendly staff. Good displays and very descriptive history, worth checking out if you are interested in the local history.
