Outstanding

What a pleasant surprise and great day out. First visit despite having visited the area many times. A long driveway with plenty of parking close to the house, pay and display, although only limited Disabled Parking. There is an excellent cafe with good quality and value snacks and meals as well as plant sales which were again good quality and value. In one of the old outbuildings is an excellent free to access display / museum.

A tour of the house was superb. The welcome was warm and the receptionist provided very detailed and interesting background to the Hall and the family. Although no formal tours the guides, in many of the rooms around the house were very keen to provide detail and were both knowledgeable and approachable. The quality of guiding provided by these volunteers was exceptional.

Worth a visit and we will certainly return next time to complete the tour, we simply ran out of time this visit. It is worth noting that most of the staff are volunteers.

Vip treatment
Sep 2021 • Couples
Went for a vip experience before the concert. Had a 3 course meal which was extremely tasty and well presented. Nice bottle of wine to accompany the meal. Staff extremely friendly and the venue was well staffed and organised. Will definitely return to book in for a meal again

Lovely time at Lytham Hall

We have just had a lovely afternoon tea in the Georgian Lytham Hall.
Followed by a trip around the hall.
The food and service were outstanding and the guides in the hall were knowledgable and friendly.
Highly recommended.

What a treat
Aug 2021
So we'd never even heard of Lytham Hall, even when we have visited the area. However by chance we came across it and we are so glad that we did.

It is important to remember that this amazing place is run predominantly on Volunteers with a tiny, tiny paid team.

You arrive at the hall and pass through the beautiful formal archway before meandering the long driveway, as you approach the end the house comes in to view and its hard for it not to take your breath away, absolutely beautiful, looks as though it was built yesterday due to its stunning colour.

Driving past the house we park in the woodland car park just a short stroll from the courtyard.

The house is the only place you need a ticket, the grounds, animal hub, tea room and shop are all available to just walk through.

House: Remarkable. Very well presented with a fascinating history and the great thing is it's not fully renovated meaning there's more to see next time. The Clifton family were certainly an interesting lot.

Tea Room: Very efficient given it was an exceptionally busy day in the beautiful warm sunshine. Sandwiches were tasty and fresh and team very friendly.

Shop: A small shop with a limited offer but lots of nice Lytham Hall branded products such as jams, chutneys and more - a nice treat.

Gardens: I was absolutely blown away when I learnt they do not have a paid gardener and that it has all been done by Volunteers, absolutely remarkable. I have seen many National Trusts properties where there is a team of paid gardeners that do not come up to the standards of Lytham Hall - Fantastic!!

I was extremely impressed with the efforts that the team at Lytham have put in to this glorious property and they should all be incredibly pleased with themselves. I cannot wait to return!

Absolutely delightful
Aug 2021 • Friends
Just had the most delightful afternoon at the Hall with my friends. We did a tour of the house and then had afternoon tea. The tour was so interesting and the guides, who are all volunteers were so informative and passionate about the Hall. We especially loved meeting guide, Brian Baker. His passion for the Hall was so lovely and he made our visit so interesting. The afternoon tea was delightful. The food was so yummy and was exceptionally good value. Once again, the staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. My friend is a vegetarian and she loved the food they prepared for her. The lemon posset was exquisite! I really recommend a visit to this beautiful place and that you all treat yourselves to the afternoon tea. Can’t wait to go back again!

A grand day out
Aug 2021
I visited here with family on a lovely, hot summers day and was very impressed with we saw. Parking was easy and reasonably priced and from the car park it was a very short walk to all the attractions Lytham Hall offers. There was an antiques/collectibles unit, a book room selling paperbacks at £1 each, a small deli style shop, a small garden centre (really nicely displayed but expensive) a section with animals in that we did not have time to see and a cafe (indoors and outdoors).

There are lovely grounds to walk in and plenty of seats everywhere and a fabulous kitchen garden, We did not do a house tour this time round - saving that for a duller day because I definitely will go back.

The cafe is reasonably priced and the food is very good. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait, which was fine, but the actual waitress service was awful. Despite having I-Pads to take orders on, we had to chase up missing items several times during lunch and then later in the day we had tea and cakes, and again some of the order did not arrive. This may have been the fault of the kitchen staff but we had to ask four times for the children's drinks at lunch time. This is where Lytham Hall has lost a point,

This is a really good day out for young and old alike - apart from the car park you don't have to spend anything - the grounds are perfect for picnics and there is plenty to see and do, especially in nice weather.

Great place. Free to visit the grounds and gardens
Aug 2021
Lovely building and amazingly well kept grounds and gardens. The car park is large and inexpensive, plenty to see and do with a popular tea room and garden in which people can eat outdoors. There is also a plant sale area and antiques outlet.

disappointed

Appreciate that with Covid, menu's have to change to ensure safety of all. We were advised to visit as a nice place to visit.
We entered and found the garden center was overpriced. We decided to take a meal in the cafe. We were presented with an overly priced and underwhelming menu.
I chose the cheese and pickle sandwich, I was underwhelmed, as the majority of cheese fell out, as I picked it up to eat. The bill for what we had was , words fall me.
So unless you have a big pocket and prepared to eat uninspiring food, then be my guest

Poor service and product range for gluten free
Jul 2021
Went on the 29th May and enjoyed the walks and food outside, good service, staff helpful and attentive and enjoyable day. I asked if they did gluten free sandwiches and food, planning to take my Mum and was told yes and that most things could be provided as gluten free. Mum rang the Hall yesterday to check they had gluten free sandwiches and was told yes. Took my Mum to the hall today for lunch. To be honest staff were indifferent and really disinterested. When Mum asked what gluten free sandwich options there were they said none. They said she had been misinformed the day before and it looks like i had been too. Staff said they had got gluten free bread in before but it wasnt used so they threw it away and dont bother offering it now, which is a poor effort for those gluten free. She could have a jacket potato or a fry up so at least there were two options, even though there weren’t any sandwiches. We came to dessert and the waiter rhymed off about 6 lovely cakes, none gluten free for mum. She asked what was available for her and he said a cereal bar. He was so disinterested and dismissive. We didnt bother. Mum asked what would have happened if she had booked an afternoon tea at the hall. He said then they would have provided gluten free bread and cakes! Not sure what’s happened here with the staffing, service and products, but it needs addressing please. Really disappointed.
