About
Fairhaven Lake is one of the borough's most popular attractions. Nestled between Lytham and St Anne's, a salt water lake, positioned directly on the coast next to Granny's Bay and Stanner Bank. Enjoy the many recreational facilities provided, motorboat, canoe and rowing boat hire. For the less adventurous there is an electrically powered motor launch, enjoy the cruise and enjoy the scenery from the launch on a 10-15 min cruise. Lakeside facilities include a cafe and the RSPB Discovery Centre. The lake is one of the most important wildfowl locations in Europe, with a group of more than 250 Canada Geese, several Swans (including a solitary Black one) and many coots, water hens and other smaller fowl.

- Elizabeth CShrewsbury, United Kingdom2,224 contributionsFantastic lake, views, cafe and wildlifeThis place has been a favourite of mine since childhood and I still go back in my fifties. The lake and park area is great for walks. There is plenty of wildlife on the lake, including a lovely family of swans and cygnets when I visited. The lakeside cafe is also great for drinks, snacks and main meals. There are lots of activities available eg water sports, crazy golf, tennis, bowls and also plenty of benches if you want to sit and watch the world go by.Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 17 June 2023

A lovely lake with motor boats for hire ( £10 for 20 mins, paid £ 20 for 40 mins) really relaxing easy enjoyable sailing, would recommend it. Lots of other facilities nearby to the lake, great for younger kids. Big cafe next to lake which as very busy. Lots of toilet facilities around. Lovely place that has something for everyone. We went on the bank holiday Monday so it was busy as expected but still we had a lovely walk around the lake and a round of crazy golf. The ice creams are delicious with some more unusual flavours which are definitely worth trying. The queue for the boat hire was too long so thought we'd pop back another day so we returned today.
Much quieter even though it's half term. Only the motor boats were available but we all enjoyed taking turns around the lake and the kids were happy to try some more of the ice-cream flavours. Managed to park nearby on a side road this time which saved us a few quid. A really nice place to spend a few hours with teenagers but could easily spend longer with younger children.

No because there are birds(not very clean) and small boats on the lake.
I was wondering if I was allowed to go kayaking on the lake in my own kayak? Or if I need a permit of some kind?
