Got the passenger ferry from Salcombe to East Portlemouth and walked to Gara Rock through woodland and the coastal path. There are alternative routes on the coastal path, and found the higher path to be easier with less climbs and descents. Had a snack in...More

This part of Devon is certainly not Motorhome friendly! With many single track roads. Parked in the National Trust car park near the beach opposite Salcombe, very narrow, would not make that trip again! Took the small passenger ferry over to Salcombe and found both...More

Lovely easy walk with views of both the estuary and the coast line. Wish we’d had longer as would like to have spent time at Mill Cove. Looked a lovely beach to relax on

We loved this walk. We did the 40 minute loop, not the whole walk to Gara Rock. It is the ideal length for families, we just had some interference when our 7 year old spotted a slug. She turned into the loudest most screamingest child...More

If you still have the energy , keep on walking round to The Pig's Nose Pub where you can sit outside and have a well-earned drink. Then walk back by. A different route. It's all beautiful.

One of my favourite walks at any time of year. The views are magnificent. The restaurant at the Gara Rock is a great place to stop for coffee or lunch.
