I don't think this museum is very widely known about - we have family connections who work at the police station and arranged the trip. You'll need 1-2 hours, there's a lot of interesting uniform and equipment items on display and loads of dressing up and police car action to keep the younger visitors interested. We even got a cup... The work which has gone into this museum by volunteers is superb. housed in the original cell areas it is a collection of memorabi elia and artifacts which show how it was in the good old days. enter via the police Box and find a TARDIS like scenario.

Fascinating journey into the past. You need an hour and a half to see all the exhibits and hear the stories from the curator. Dress up or end up in a cell. Great time to be had by all ages.

worked in this building 5 years ago, and have only just found out it has started doing the tours again,, a fantastic opportunity to see the way the upholding of the law was maintained in days gone by,,old handcuffs and batons and the like , but a really full and interesting biopic of life as was then lived..

Well presented in the cells of the old police station showing local police history going back to the 19th century. Informative guides who were ex police officers made the whole visit interesting with their anecdotes and comments on the artefacts. Well worth a visit.

We went with the Warrington U3A group and were treated to an afternoon of great fun. The volunteer helpers were so enthusiastic it was hard not to get involved - there were handcuffs and truncheons on display as well as many other remarkable exhibits. It gave us a real incite into policing through the ages.

Amazing, the amount of effort that has gone into this is incredible! Retired officers who are proud of their continued contribution make this a fascinating experience.

From pictures to uniforms, weapons to equipment and models to an actual police car this Museum has it all. Being located in the former custody area of a working police station gives it an added atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else. Museum curators Peter and Mary met us at reception and guided us through the visit. Both are very... More

What can I say Peter rang me back after me sending a email for work. The kids loved it and would recommend to anybody. Peter was the most helpful guy going and went out of his way to help with anything we needed
