Good Venue - Jimmy Carr Was Great

I have been going to the Civic for years.... it was always a bit of a dump to be honest, long queues at the bar, expensive booze.....but worst of all, very poor acoustics for a concert venue, well slowly they are supposedly doing it up... went to see James (who were excellent), but sadly many of the old problems still... We've been here loads of times it's a superb concert venue better than anything else in the Midlands by far, one of the few things that people of Wolverhampton can be proud of. Its currently in the middle of a refurbishment, please please please don't spoil it.

We went to see Jimmy Carr last weekend. I think it’s a great venue for shows like that. We sat upstairs at the back and had a great view. I don’t really think there is a bad view from anywhere. There was a long queue for drinks, but we also ordered interval drinks to avoid any other queues. The drinks... More

We went and saw the brilliant Catherine Tate on Friday 2nd December. We have been to the civic a lot of times over the years , service has always been good , not this time it was awful and seats do not get any better , partners knees was in his chest , an other mans body close to mine... More

Shalamar - great band and dance performance, venue very poor. Venue awful, cold, acoustics and sound quality dreadful, ticket prices expensive. Good view from balcony but sound quality really poor and venue in need of total refurb. Will never revisit and would not recommend.

Went to see Catherine Tate live at the civic. Venue is pretty big, and fine for a show but if you start to look around you realise how it needs a revamp inside. Fairly dated interior, upstairs back wall of bare brickwork looks like a work in progress and needs plaster and paint. Security seem to enjoy confiscating sealed bottles... More

I recently visited the Wolverhampton Civic Hall for a David Essex Concert. This was the last night of his final tour. The doors were supposed to open at 7.00pm, the support act was due on at 7.30pm. At 7.25pm I was still waiting to get through the doors. Due to the delay many people missed some, if not all of... More

I visited on 27th Nov to see David Essex's final concert of his tour. They opened the doors too late so the queue was very long . We waited 45 mins to get in. It was freezing cold. Staff were rude. We missed most of the support act due to the poor organisation. We were sitting on the second row... More

In all my years of going to different theatres all over the country this was the worst.. Security who spoke down to people, who were rude and overbearing, doors opened just 20 mins before show despite the queue going round the block so first act was missed by most going. People being allowed to take alcoholic drinks in the actual... More

I recently visited Wolverhampton Civic Hall to attend the last night of a tour by David Essex. Firstly the doors were not opened on time, lengthy queues of people had to wait in the freezing cold for a long time to get into the building, resulting in many people missing some or all of the support act, an excellent singer.songwriter...
