Took an hour to get to Upton house, had lunch before we had a look around, sandwiches and drinks very good, just a shame the coffee machine was so slow , had to wait ages in the queue. We walked down to the mirror pool only to find that you could not walk all the way round as it was... More

We visited on a cold & wet day. We had lunch in the restaurant before visiting the house. Nice lunch & a very interesting visit to a house that was being renovated room by room. Very good staff who were helpful with information about the work being done. Nice walk in the garden after the rain stopped.

The house itself is large, but is architecturally a bit 'meh'. I thought this could be because it was relatively modern - but it seems that the heart of the house goes back to the 17th century. Like most country houses, it has been heavily messed around by different owners - the move to an Art Deco style hasn't really... More

We recently visited Upton House with two friends. We were hoping to visit the gardens and spend some time looking at the plants. The Mirror Pool was still empty with an excavator sitting at one end. The work was supposed to be finished in 2016. The terraces were all closed off and the plants could not be seen. There were... More

Great place. Lovely cafe and nice garden shop. Plenty of people to help with any questions. Gardens were still very pretty.

Upton house is set equal distance between Stratford On Avon and Banbury in Warwickshire. The National Trust work hard to create an engaging visit to this wonderful house. Currently they are in a changeover period from their Banking for Victory exhibition to their Made to Measure house exhibition starting on 25th March 2017. This new exhibition will show how the... Sadly we went on a miserable day so we didn't do justice to the gardens, whilst the NT were also in the process of conclude an exhibition in the house, so some parts were not on show. Despite this, we really enjoyed our tour of the house, which is quite different to many NT properties. The forthcoming exhibitions look superb,... More

Visited Upton house with my parents. The cafe was impressive and the walk up to the house was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. However due to multiple works being carried out within the house and grounds we could not see it at its full potential. They were changing exhibitions so lots of things weren't on display. I'm... A fascinating house with interesting grounds and a pleasant restaurant. The highlight for us was the committed volunteer staff who were interested, friendly and communicative. We had a pleasant walk around the grounds and enjoyed the spring flowers that were starting to appear. We walked around the grounds, which took us around 15-29 minutes. Some sections are rather muddy and... More

What to do on a cold wet half term holiday with a reluctant stately home visiting grandson ? Well we took ourselves off to Upton House...it's funny how we tend not to visit landmarks on our doorsteps but today we did.we booked into the house tour which was dressed as a bank in the war years...we had a great guide...
