This is an ancient building that has been staged to show the visitor how these buildings were updated through the ages and in this case in the 1920s. Much of the house is accessible to the visitor and there is an interesting collection of china...More

This is one amazing National Trust property and the way it's laid out is fantastic the trail as if you were a prospective buyer in 1927 adds a great extra depth to your visit. The kids loved the art collection trying on period clothes and...More

It’s a cold wet February day; the sign at the gate still indicates that the estate is for sale, but in fact it was sold a little while ago in (1927) to a neighbour who brought in his builders, architects and landscape designers to completely...More

I came across this house by chance last December. Its a hidden gem with beautiful grounds and an amazing art collection. It was dressed for Christmas interestingly. But will have to visit in the summer when I can see the grounds properly,

We have visited Upton House many times and have never been disappointed. Last year their theme was the war years as the house had been used as a 'bank' during the war as the owners were London bankers.

We visited the house in early December and as the weather was less than pleasant did not venture into the gardens. These comments relate only to the house. This has to be the most charmless and disappointing NT property we have ever been in. From...More

My idea would be to ring Upton and find out what they suggest. The staff are so helpful - they may be able to help you plan your visit so that you can use the restaurant. The food at Upton is excellent and caters for all. If... More
