A stone’s throw away is a beautiful glass Victorian greenhouse, take a moment and have a wander. Inside you’ll find tropical towering plants under a white framed glass dome, and deep in the small curves of the path through to the other side lives a little pond. In the little pong you’ll find some happy little goldfish and beside it an ‘Ode’ to the little goldfish that defied all odds. We went during the April Bank Holiday where various events like, ferret racing and a local market were on in the gardens. This is a lovely park in the centre of Buxton, adjacent to the old Opera House. Groundsmen seem to be continually maintaining the park and consequently it really is kept well. You can enjoy the gardens, there's a little river running through the park, there's a bandstand and the Victorian Pavilion building is accessible from the park too. Very nice and very peaceful.…

We came here after our visit to Pooles cavern. The weather was lovely so walking around the park was nice. We went inside an indoor market had a look around and got ourselves an ice cream. We had a walk towards the pond where we were greeted by loads of wildlife and we had a trip on the little train, cost £1.50 each and was a nice little attraction which drove around a small part of the park a couple of times. It has a reasonably sized play area and I believe there was a biating lake too but not 100%. It was very clean and well maintained.…

We had a lovely walk around the gardens which were very well maintained. So much so that there was a gardener blowing leaves off the paths with a petroleum blower. He was doing this on the windiest day in autumn!
