My partner and I had a weekend trip to Buxton, and since I am half Fraggle, half Goblin, this was definitely on my list of things to do. We arrived just in time for the next tour (huzzah for good timing!) and away we went. I think our tour guide was called Robin? Although now I feel I may have... More

The cavern is small but it is a nice experience, particularly on a rainy day (even though on the day we visited it was also raining inside, make sure you wear proper clothes and footwear). When we first turned up, we were told that next tour would be in about an hour as they had a booking for a school... More

Such a wonderful attraction for a family visit - the kids were very excited to go down the caves and really enjoyed the gift shop and mini museum beforehand. But best of all was the tour guide - he spoke with great enthusiasm and made us all chuckle. The kids loved him and got involved with all the Qs. He... More

We stopped off for a morning at Poole's Cavern and were very pleased that we did. It's easy enough to find and just outside Buxton town centre, with a good amount of parking on-site. The tour itself was very informative and our guide did a great job of keeping us entertained with interesting facts from the history and geology of... More

Really interesting place to visit, you wait in the exhibition centre till your guide calls your group forward for your tour and off you go in to the caves. Austin our guide was a mine of information and spoke loud & clear so everyone could hear. We walked deep in to the caves which were quite chilly so wrap up.... More

I hadn't heard of Poole's Cavern before staying near Buxton but was blown away by it. The caves themselves are stunning and lit in a really fantastic way. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and also very entertaining - thanks Robin. Considering it's a cave it's also very accessible with mainly quite high and wide pathways. We visited the cafe whilst... More

Had a really lovely morning at Poole's Cavern. Visited with my husband who is visually impaired and has severe walking difficulties. Staff were extremely helpful and polite and the Cavern guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Afterwards visited the Cafe which has a lovely view over the bird and squirrel feeders. Kept us very entertained whilst we ate delicious cakes... More

The guides are very informative and have answers for all questions. It is interesting to hear the history of when the caves were opened along with the explanations of the age of the rocks etc. The lighting adds to the mood of the attraction. It would appear the atmosphere changes due to the amount of rain. Remember to wear waterproof... More

Very nice tour and a very informative one. The staff are friendly and have a wide knowledge on the cavern. I was very interested in all the stories of the cave and was a sight to remember. I would highly recommend this tour to families, couples or just people who love exploring
