Good selection of Cask beers
Sep 2021
Went here for a drink on our way back to the station. A good selection of Cask beers, which were well kept and at very reasonable prices. Recommended.

The best place in Folkestone- must visit!
Sep 2021 • Couples
Absolutely superb friendly service, the beer is fantastic and excellent value for money - ambiance is brilliant. Also serves wine, gin and bottled lager as well as ale direct from the cask, all perfectly kept, as well as cider

Decent Real Ale From Cask
Mar 2019
This is the place to sample genuine English ale, gravity fed from the cask - which means at its best. Friendly, convivial atmosphere and customers who talk to you. No tedious background music or gaming machines to disturb the sounds of ale and cider sliding down thirsty throats. No frills. No pretences. Delightful.

Superb place to enjoy a pint and a chat

First visit to The Firkin and don't know why I have not been a regular here before. Very convivial atmosphere with friendly barman / proprietor who has a good range of delicious ales and ciders plus bottled lagers and wine. Drinkers create a good atmosphere in there and the pub was very welcoming, so much so that after nipping in there for a pre meal pint we returned after the meal to finish the evening off. Will definitely return to this excellent micro pub.

Probably the best micropub in Folkestone
Jun 2018 • Friends
Great selection of well kept ales at reasonable prices. Unlike other comments I much prefer the new premises with more room and better seating. We have tried the other micropubs in the area and this is one of the best if not the best.

lovely little place, right in the middle of town. the beers and ciders are always excellent and the service is friendly and welcoming. if you are a fan of real ale you should add this place to your itinerary. there is always good sport to be found in watching people attempt to park in the street outside

Just stopped in for a quick drink as close to bus station. Great beers, nice service, friendly customers.

Cosy little place, more real ale than hipster,

Absolutely worth a visit.

Great beer and banter......

Spent an excellent few hours enjoying some lovely ales at The Firkin on my first ever overnight visit to Folkestone. As a micropub fan, this place typifies the ethos - a no frills, uncomplicated venue where people gather for chat and a few well kept drinks. Neil, the owner, rotates his beers and ciders to provide an interesting and varied selection without ever compromising freshness and quality over numbers of casks available at any one time. Cheers to you Neil, hopefully I shall return sometime.

Good place for real ale
Dec 2017 • Couples
As usual, always checking out micro pubs and this was one we visited in Folkestone. It's very simply laid out with three beers served straight from the cask. I sampled halves of all three, Jay tried one of the beers and then half of cider. It was quite at the time we visited but got the impression from the few that were in that it's a popular place. Well worth a visit.

Well, he has only gone and moved next door to accommodate more customers . The place was full when we visited on a cold November evening. Great choice of ales as usual , great atmosphere and conversation .Remember to turn you devices off when entering to avoid a fine!
