I visited as a youngster and have really enjoyed taking my children and grandchildren. There is so much to see for all age groups, my grandchildren love seeing the dinosaur pig (half pig to veryone else 😀) There are not many places in Huddersfield that are so informative and FREE, so please PLEASE don't close it down Kirklees Council.

So went for a mindfulness walk up to ravensknowle park and called into this little gem...what a lovely place. There is plenty of history on Huddersfield and shows you the different cultures of Huddersfield. There is a great gift shop and they also have events on certain days like a world war 1 talk and Nordic walking. Its a shame... More

Not bad little trip out to pass a few hours and there is a big park to run around. Some very interesting things, but It does what it says on the tin.

I used to go with my grandma; it was very interactive with lots of things to look at and pull or fiddle with. It was very interesting however there was no way to get upstairs apart from using the stairs. But still,it is such a shame to hear it is closing down.

This museum is a tribute to two brothers who died in WWI from their uncle. It is a free museum and there are a lot of things to look at and the video/audio sections are fabulous. Well worth the stop. they are only open Tues-Thurs

We travelled from Saddleworth to visit the Tolson Museum and discovered an ecclectic mix of artefacts and exhibits situated in an intriguing and once elegant and grand building. We spent a couple of hours there, exploring the museum and the small parkland surrounding it. Places such as this are "jewels in Huddersfield's crown" and should be treasured for posterity. Definitely... More

An old school friend and I had a nostalgia trip here (40+ years since we were at school). Happy to see the half-skeleton animals, and disappointed the massive collection of stuffed birds was temporarily not viewable. We spent an absorbing 2 hours, and didn't see everything. The transport section is fascinating, and I could have spent all day in the... More

A good local museum with lots of local interest especially the WW1 exhibition. More investment would be beneficial - and certainly it should not be closed.
