Small but some interesting paintings from known and well known artists. The paintings were well displayed and labelled. Wish it could have opened a little earlier though. No cafe but a coffee machine.

A very wide range of fine art in a compact space. The local heritage library had extensive collection of information about Huddersfield readily available.

It's a small provincial art gallery, isn't it? I think it's fair to say you don't really expect too much from such places - there are some good and quite notable pieces in the small, permanent collection including a Moore and a Bacon. What's more...More

I took a group if vulnerable adults to have a look around ...as ever there are some spectacular art pieces to look at.. I just found the whole experience depressing and boring. There is zero atmosphere in the in the gallery nor in whole building!!...More

This was an unplanned visit but we read that there are two Lowry paintings in the exhibition. There’s artwork from local artists which wasn’t really my thing. The Lowry paintings are magnificent. There’s a Henry Moore sculpture too. It’s worth a visit.

The gallery is located on the top floor of the town's library in Princess Alexandra Walk. It is around a ten minute walk from Huddersfield station. The collection is primarily 20th century British art, with work from the likes of Lucien Pissarro, Stanley Spencer, Frank...More

This is a beautiful building in the heart of Huddersfield Town Centre. Changing displays to make the appeal ongoing for people. Well kept building. A real asset to Huddersfield.

Other than the two LS Lowry paintings there was nothing of particular interest to us. The gallery is quite small, looks a bit tired, in need of some refurbishment....surprising in a town with such a big University.
