Beautiful old building and lovely grounds. I love taking my son here as he can run and run. Such a lovely national heritage site and well worth a visit. The cafe has great coffee and the kids can play in the fantastic play area.
Part of English Heritage but well worth the Admission if you are not a Member. The Mansion is a delight with excellent decor and loads of history. Excellent mobile audio facilities to guide you though the house and gardens.

We had a great night at the Van Morrison gig. Only complaint is the question to get in. Missed 1st act as trapped on the main road for best part off hour and half. Pretty setting. A bugger to get in on events.
Had a lovely time walking around the vast gardens which are beautiful but did not realise that the house is not furnished, just empty rooms. We could not go upstairs as closed so just walked around the few rooms downstairs. Wasn’t what I expected.
