On a not particularly dry or bright day, we had a lovely visit to Highclere Castle. The grounds are lovely, the castle is a beautiful building, we had some very tasty food, and all the staff were very welcoming.

Booked here on a Friday afternoon. Lovely afternoon but a bit much to take in,will have to revisit so it can sink in!!

You can request a loan chair from the staff but best to book in advance.this you can use throughout the house and grounds. If using a wheel chair you cannot visit the first floor of the house as there are stairs, carers... More

I am sure you would be able to see the outside of the castle without going inside as long as you go when the castle is open to the public.
