This moderate 2.8 mile walk starts from Salcombe Hill, high above Sidmouth. You drop through woodland to the path beside the River Sid. At the seafront, a shingle ridge provides a buffer zone between the sea and town. Zigzag up the hill, above the towering red cliffs, to bring you up to a viewpoint with breathtaking views out over Lyme Bay and the famous cliffs of the Jurassic Coast.

Lovely views, moderate difficulty level as there some steep climbs. However we were well directed by the online set of directions. The path and steps are well maintained and there are a good set of benches throughout the walk.

This three and a half mile walk is not for everyone as it is quite exhausting in parts but well worth doing if you are fit and we had the pleasure of seeing vast areas of bluebells, being early May

A group of us enjoyed a short walk in this area as part of a navigation course. The footpaths were easy to follow and well signposted.

Footpath to Salcombe from the sea front, was well marked with some spectacular views from the cliff over looking Sidmouth Bay. The path climbs steeply through some pretty woods where bluebells were just beginning and onto the cliff top by the Salcombe Hill Car Park....More

This is incredibly steep and strenuous but worth it for the views. Incorporates some excellent circular walks as well.
