We changed our usual Sunday walk along Bedfords attractive river embankment to the Country Park instead. It was a cool but sunny morning and although we arrived fairly early there were many cars in the parking area. There were several sailing boats on the lake and a fair number of people walking round the main lake,we diverted past the finger... More

Lovely location, easy to find, free parking. Very clean and beautifully maintained. Lots of different length walks including one around the lake and also nature trails and an extensive play area for kids. No traffic, very safe and tranquil and a haven for wildlife. Also good for joggers/runners, there's a café serving tea/coffee/snacks and a Beefeater within the grounds with... More

A lovely open space, with beautiful views across open countryside. As today, when the sun shines it makes the lake look even more spectacular. Sadly the fabulous cafe run by Tea-Zels, where lovely cakes were a speciality and all produce used was locally sourced, has closed because their lease has expired and they have been outbid in the tender process.

This is an attractive park with lots of walking routes, it joins up with the River Ouse so can easily be reached from the city. There is a cafe and lots of places for picnics, also an area to feed the ducks.

My wife and I visited Priory Country Park this weekend and found it to be a very pleasurable experience. You walk all around the outside of the lake and there is plenty to occupy you whilst you walk. There are lots to amuse the kids with places for them to paddle (with wellingtons) there is a small ford you can... More
