About
Online all the time for viewing and purchasing original art, and popping up as a walk in space once every couple of months. Gallery Number Three is an independent gallery exhibiting contemporary Fine Art in Carlisle, Cumbria. The only one of its kind in the city, the pop up is located in an elegant town house in a lovely and leafy part of Carlisle. The exhibitions the gallery hosts support professional artists from a national and international scene, including artists based in Cumbria. The visitor can expect to see: painting, ceramics and sculpture, photography, works on paper and mixed media. The work is curated by a small, professional and friendly team - typically over two spacious rooms and hallway. As a pop up, exhibitions are held for two or three days and will allow you the opportunity to view and purchase work in relaxed surroundings.

Gallery with an interesting mix aof contemporary artists
Dec 2016 • Couples
We were given a warm welcome and were delighted to find we recognised the work of many artists whom we admire. It was the Christmas exhibition that we saw most recently. There was a wide range of of interesting exhibits, providing something for most people's tastes. Anyone who enjoys contemporary art would enjoy the opportunity to see the exhibition. The gallery regularly changes exhibitions so it is worth looking out for dates and times and details of artists.

Gallery No 3 Review
Mar 2015 • Solo
I have visited the Gallery on a number of occasions now and have been impressed. The latest event being the opening night of their War and Piece exhibition featuring work by local artists, who were impressive to say the least, The entire space was curated beautifully and cohesively with well-chosen artwork. Gallery Number Three is the home and studio of Derek Eland an accomplished artist in his own right whose passion for art shows. He works in collaboration with curators from The Shining Tree who were present at the event .The night had a great vibe and their vibrant company enhanced the entire experience The Gallery itself is a credit to them and a wonderful showcase for the art on show I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gallery number 3 to friends and will definitely become a regular visitor there.

What a great place!
Some friends took me to see this new gallery and I was soo pleasantly surprised. An alltogether pleasant art experience in a semi private space, the rooms are beutiful and the curator (I think?) was telling us all about the show and made everyone feel at home. It was a good exhibition, a high level of artworks with two painters and a ceramicist. Sadly my cubards are full I loved the cups and ceramic pieces and very much appreciated the dynamics of the three artists in the show.
Vibes were good on the whole!!!

love the art!

I visited on the recommendation of a fellow art collector, and very glad I did too. Carlisle needs a venue that has well chosen and curated artwork; in this instance paintings, sculpture and photography. A great show full of variety and quality (but affordable) pieces. And a relaxed but comfortable venue, the owner is an accomplished artist in his own right. As well as a bit of local advertising this kind of venue also gets heard about by word of mouth so that's what I am doing! And I also bought a couple of paintings.

This gallery is within the distinctive Victorian home of local artist painter Derek Eland. So inevitably the exhibits are experienced in an accessible and tangible context with helpful and informative
assistance from friendly and enthusiastic art lovers and practitioners. Art made accessible.
