Look for alternative walks taking in the Tarn and it's surrounding area. Fabulous views from Talkin Farlam road for instance.

Enjoyed a lovely walk around the tarn earlier this week, the colours were fantastic, it was great to walk and kick the leaves. We were so looking forward to having a hot drink at the snack bar before we left but found that they only took card payments, and my card was in the car so we decided not to bother. Cant wait to go back, I will take my card next time.

Talkin Tarn is absolutely brilliant! Not too long for a walk or run, enjoyable for everyone, and provides a souvenir shop and exciting ice cream! It's home to lots of wildlife, including ducks you can feed! Also, it's very dog friendly! Talkin Tarn is a brilliant walk in any season! In the Autumn and Winter you can walk with the lovely orange and red colours making the Tarn look gorgeous in every way! In the Summer and Spring, the water glistens and shines making it, again, look amazing! If you haven't visited Talkin Tarn, you really should! It's a brilliant place to go!

Lovely walk around the Tarn, only a mile or so, and ideal for Wheelchairs, Pushchairs and dogs. You can go off track on a woodland walk if you wish. Restaurant currently closed but walk-through takeaway open, coffee. ice cream etc is available. There is a small playground for the tots, but plenty of woodland for them to roam.
