Better than we thought. Interactive fixtures at every turn, activities and questions for the kids, light/sound shows, helpful staff, clear informative exhibits. Well resourced shop too.

There is a lot of information to read and a lot to learn. It is great for families with younger children as there are many interactive exhibits.

Interesting, we all managed to spend a full morning there. I dident really no a lot about Colchester before i went on. Lots of things to do with dead and cremated people which the kids liked. ☺

Another great British museum, this one has plenty of history on the local area. Some highlights include the coin hoards, discussion of the castle, the prison and the various finds from the local area.
