Lovely old building housing free exhibitions of life from the town, etc and also now housing the tourist information centre. Often sadly overlooked, as rather tucked away behind the toilets to the right of the High Street war memorial and entrance to the Castle Park....More

What can I say, all sorts in here, a lovely building to explore with well displayed objects and interactive units and trails that would entertain children (and entertained us adults!). Toy and childhood room my favorite. A nice way to spend a few hours. Combined...More

0-5 year old children love it here. They can see all the old toys, games and even have the chance to dress up. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They always accommodate us leaving our buggies in a safe and secure place when requested

Lovely old building, entrance is free as is all museums in Colchester. Tells you about life in Colchester over a 100 years ago. The travel information office is also located in this building and there are clean public toilets next door.

Nice little interesting museum housed in a 18th century mansion. A nice collection of artefacts of which the ones on the first floor, dealing with everyday household, were most interesting to me. Other rooms are filled with childrens toys and clocks. Good for an hour

If you take the kids here, its good once or twice, but nothing much changes and they get bored, only went because of the school passport scheme.
