it is Christmas in Stamford with loads of good Christmas decorations both high in the street and outside shops with the old houses and shops I think are very impressive the market is set out on a crossroad and you will find that the town is built on very hilly ground and a warm welcome awaits you as you walk along the streets

Stamford is a great half way stop just off the A1 motorway if you happen to be travelling North. There is easy parking in a large lot next to the Town Meadows. Traffic was quite busy getting through the main town on a Sunday but it was well worth it. You can picnic on the town meadows where there are picnic tables available. Enjoy a stroll through the stone town with its lovely church spires and lanes to explore. There are cafes and restaurants to enjoy. A very pleasant stop of our journey North.

I enjoyed my visit to Stamford today despite the rain. I had a nice coffee at Stray's Coffee, 9 High Street, Stamford, PE9 2AL. So nice too that they have signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme so half price Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August.

Stamford is a must see place to visit. We hadn't been before and we really have missed out. Lots of fabulous independent shops to browse, whether food, gifts, clothes antiques or curio;,Stamford has it all in charming warm stone style. Plenty if places to take in culture and liars of places to eat and drink.
