The railways started in this part of the world. If you love the railways then this is a must visit. Also suggest you visit the museum which was the original station and then head to Shildon.

Found it a very clean station helpful enough staff. Well enough served with taxis. Doun fall was bridge into station didn't have any assistance for disabled given car park next to it. Apart from that would give a8/10

I love this station, it's small so easy to navigate, yet you get to travel to so many places from here. It's £11 to park all day, you then walk over the bridge to the station but are protected by CCTV, you pay when you...More

This Victorian station has been very well adapted to serve the modern age whilst retaining its historic features, compares well with many stations that have been replaced by feature less sheds without adequate weather cover.

My wife and myself travel out of the train station in Darlington an average of twice a month. Never a problem, the restrooms are always clean, the platforms are always clean, and the ticket office is always very helpful.

Used this station en route to Durham. Found it clean, friendly and with excellent signage. Seemed to have a lot of staff who were very friendly and helpful. Nice to use such a bright, light, well kept station.

Darlington is a lovely old station with enough modern touches to allow your wait for a train fairly comfortable. My only complaint is the parking and getting in and out of the station

There are barriers with staff so you would need their permission which I am sure they would not withold. If it very late the gates may well be left open.
