Darlington Hippodrome (formerly Darlington Civic Theatre) re-opened in November 2017 after a £13.7m restoration. The Hippo Lounge cafe bar and three free gallery spaces are open from 10am each day (excluding Sundays).

The show was excellent. The theatre is really lovely since the refurbishment, the cafe was open downstairs so we got a sandwich and a drink, very reasonable prices. We go quite often go to this threatre as it so good.

This theatre has been superbly renovated and updated. Loved it before and now outstanding. The play (The Full Monty) was absolutely superbly produced and acted. So much better even than the excellent film. Well done Darlington Hippodrome we will be back

Extremely friendly staff, Amazing history all over the walls, clean toilets the only downfall is the seating arrangements...if need to be out in an emergency or even for the toilet you have to disrupt everyone by climbing over legs & bags to get out 😢
