Theatre in the forest - Romeo and Juliet
Aug 2019 • Friends
We love Red Rose productions, and Romeo and Juliet did not disappoint. Just as it started the heavens opened and being outside you are obviously going to get soaked. It didn't matter, polythene capes were handed out and the show continued. Then the power went off due to the rain. They carried on regardless with great ad libs and humour. We took two of our grand children, 10 & 7, and they also loved it. RRC really know how to get Shakespeare to the masses. Look forward to next year. Soaked but happy.

Lovely theatre and good productions

Lovely compact theatre in the heart of Ipswich. Seen a couple of things here, always high quality and really enjoyable plays and shows. Theatre very intimate, very close to the stage and actors so really different to most other theatres I've been to. Drinks and food also very cheap!

We were very impressed by Red Rose chain theatre. We went into a wood and canvas seats are provide. The acting was a very high standard. At last actors who can project their voice . That was the first thing I learnt. Breathing and speaking from the stomach not the throat.
Staff are friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable.

Very unusual and enjoyable evening
Aug 2018 • Friends
A friend booked tickets for this as we had never heard of it. Set in the woodland of Jimmy's farm it was a magical evening. Had a picnic at the seated area to begin with. Even had a chance to see some the animals on the way in. Just watch out for bugs - my partner had lots of bites after. The actors worked their hearts out, even welcoming you in character on the way in and circulating with the audience. The plot was butchered but who cares when it's this joyful?

A Definite Must See
Aug 2018 • Couples
We booked our tickets online not 24 hrs before we went to see 'Much ado about nothing' at Jimmy's Farm and were not disappointed. Blessed with a lovely evening sitting in the forest watching an amazing performance by the Red Rose Chain Theatre Group - whats not to like. As it gets darker you become more immersed in the play and the environment.

Lots of parking on site and not too far to walk through to the woodland theatre where there is also a coffee / drinks bar. There is plenty of tiered seating else take your fold up chairs and grab a place in front of the performance area. Toilet facilities very close by. Lots of people took picnics arriving 1-2 hours before the show and many took blankets and warm coats for later in the evening.

Thankyou Red Rose and Jimmy's Farm for a lovely evening.

Absolutely, the highlight of the summer for us. The cast were on top form and we didn't stop laughing once. Once again Jo and the team from Red Rose Chain have come up trumps with their take on Much Ado About Nothing.

Whent there on Christmas eve and saw The Elves & The Shoemaker. Didn't know what to expect as never been to anything like this before. Arrived at the theatre and found a parking space although the car park is not very big. went inside and was greeted by a young lady who said we could sit down and wait till the doors opened or get a drink at the bar, we decided to get a drink the beer was ok but a bit on the expensive side. We were shown into the theatre and the seats were marked with our names on them all very organised. The show started and i found it very very good there was a interval after about 40 minutes for ten minutes or so. The second half was just as good. the whole show consisted of three actors who played all the parts.
I found the whole thing very enjoyable and i will definitely be going back again.

Super Quirky Fun Filled Christmas Family Show
Dec 2017 • Family
Just returned from the matinee performance of the show-‘the elves and the shoemaker’

We were treated to an absolutely incredible imaginative performance and there is an additional possibility of seeing Santa in his grotto for just 5 pounds per child - adults free.
Santa (really professional and fab characterisation and costume) had lots of time for photo opportunities in a festively pretty Christmassy Grotto setting and the visit included a quality gift. However the ‘star of the show’ was a wonderful beautifully produced, funny, witty and interactive Christmas show designed for children and adults alike. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The Red Rose Group will always pull out every stop to make each performance personalised and simply wondrous.
NOTHING is too much trouble for them. It is heartening to see so many young volunteers helping out to make every visit a special one!

This is a fantastic little gem of a theatre and even more so, a fantastic little gem of a company. If you only see one family friendly show this Christmas please make it this one. I attended with my daughter and my granddaughter and we absolutely adored it. Book now ASAP.
