This was a last minute walk through as there wasn't much to do otherwise. It was dark and seemed to need some cleaning.

Found this little gem on map from Tourist Information.... A great place full of different items of interest, from animals found in foreign lands, to WW2 history, and Suffolk wildlife, a rare mixture under one roof.. I didn't have enough time to savour visit so a return is on the books. The staff were lovely...

Don't be put off by the website and frontage. Even though it's a fabulous old building it can appear run down. Not at all inside is a Victorian wonderland to another era. The layout might not have change but the quality of the exhibits is outstanding. Thank you to the great staff for a great visit.

One of my favourite places to go in Ipswich. Such a range of time periods are covered in this museum. A range of things on display, from coins and trinkets to mammoths and interactive displays. A great place to take your family. A good place to unwind and connect with the past. Free and fabulous.

Myself and my children have visited the museum many times. Always a good rainy day activity with lots to see and do, especially during the holidays.
