Nice to walk around

The old town is my favorite place in Stavanger. It is really nice to walk around. The old town is not very big, may only take 10 mins to walk from the start to the end.

Walked around the old town Stavanger last weekend . Dreary weather didn't show it at its best but some lovely old houses of historical interest and very clean and tidy . Well maintained cobbled streets . Flower pots everywhere but as yet too early for flowers . An interesting Sardine museum in the middle along with a nearby coffee shop... More

We arrived and the cruise ship tied up almost alongside old Stavanger, enabling us to view the area from above. A well preserved area of Stavanger, white wooden houses and narrow streets. Very accessible a short distance from the port. Take a slow stroll through the streets, take your camera for some interesting shots, especially when the cruise ship is... More

Old Stavanger is a typical Norwegian white wooden houses with very narrow streets. Perfect for a short walk. The train and bus stations are close by, so if you are passing through, you can go and see old houses in Stavanger.

It took me less than 2 hours to walk by old Stavanger. Nice wooden houses with romantic and warm atmosphere. It was a sunny afternoon, so I could see fjord mountains in the horizon

A pretty place even in the winter. It is not far from the centre of the city and is worth a walk. It does have cobbled streets and is on the side of a hill so expect a bit of effort. There are some gift shops around the edge of it by the harbour

Beautiful wooden homes close to the harbour. Nice to visit off season like me did when the cruise ships aren't in the harbour and the town us busy.
