Went with a friend and kids for open day at the museum. The museum reflects that Trondheim as a city had a very small maritime history. How ever, nice displays of old ships mainly from the town two school sailships and old "hurtigruten" ships.

Signage on side building when we were walking from hotel made us think it was in another building. Got there with about 20 minutes before close and were graciously allowed in for free. Good photo op and a drawing area for children

The maitime museum is situated in an old building which used to be a prison. Very interesting and well laid out. Only ten minutes walk from Hurtigruten and centrally located. Well worth a visit.
