The museum told of the invasion by Germany and how some Norwegians were in a Nazi movement that infiltrated the Resistance, taking revenge upon the resistors. To minimize this effect, it was necessary to bring in soldiers from England whose job it was to sabotage the Nazi movements. Admission to the museum was free; not certain if that is true... More

This is well worth a visit especially as it is free! (A rarity in Norway!) Spent 45 mins in there and learned quite a bit about the history of conflicts in Nirway.

A small little museum of Norwegian Army and WWII Resistance History. The former is better than the latter. The Resistance side isn't very large and focuses as much on collaborators as resistors. Still, worth an hour out of your day.

I used to come here often as a kid on the basis of having an over the average interest in all things historical and especially military. This museum is mainly dedicated to Norwegian military history and ww2 in particular. It's my guess that this museum is run under the budget of the defence department hence being free, like its counterpart... More

This museum is located close to the Archbishop's Palace, and it's free. It has several exhibitions, and it's very similar to the other Resistance Museums I've seen in Norway. Maybe not that special if you have visited other before, but if you haven't, I would sure it is well worth the visit!

Are you interested in military history, this is the place for you. Rustkammeret displays norwegian military history, more specific, military history from the area around Trondheim. It has on display old military uniforms and weapons from the middleage up to this day. it also shows the resistance during WWII. The museum is only a museum where you look at things,... More

A small museum devoted to the so called Home Guard who tried to defend and protect Norway during our invasion by the Germans during WW2. Nicely laid out and interesting things to see. The Germans are no longer unfriends. This happened over 70 years ago. But the museum is there to show what happened in those years.

Crammed into one corner of the Archbishop's Palace which is next to Nidarosdomen is this little museum full of static exhibits of weapons, armour, flags, uniforms and equipment from Norway from Viking times to the modern age. They have a pretty impressive collection of weapons, from medieval pole axes to machine guns and artillery pieces, with even a few rare... More

Located next to Nidarosdomen this offers a cheap alternative for those who want to learn more about Norways history. It describes the development of the Norwegian army from the middle ages and to the present time. Oh and did I mention that admission is free of charge?
