A good area to visit

Grunerløkka is a great area to visit. Bars, restaurants and markets. A few hipsters about. But still an ok place to go in the summer.

Experience the real pulse of Oslo. Visit Grunnelokka anytime of the day and feel the buzz. The place is awash with cool, interesting cafes, bars, eateries, galleries, shops and people. Although Norway is expensive, the prices you pay here are for the most part everyday local prices. There are no tourist traps here they would not survive! Whenever I have... More

Nice and cozy neighborhood with lots of colored houses, little shops, coffee bars and art galleries/stores.

A great place to base your stay if you are interested in the quirky side of the city with funky cafes and vintage clothing. Well serviced by trams and yet walkable to the city.

This place used to be a real alternative area in Oslo. Unfortunately more commercial businesses are starting to blossom in this area. There are still alot of local shops here, and alot of different types of pubs. In general a nice spot to visit if you want to go out on town.

This is a very popular area of Oslo, especially for Young People, and there are a few parks which are always packed With People when the weather is Nice. I enjoy Grunerlokka due to the lack of Chain stores and that there are lots of small individual stores and cafes.

Loved this part of town! Brilliant independent shops, mixed in with a few decent ones that aren't. Great coffee shops and and bakeries.

When you visit Oslo please take the time to walk down these streets and explore all the small shops, especially around the area of Sofienbergparken and Parkteateret. There are a lot of quaint small markets that happen here now and then. Also a lot of smaller music venues that can be visited.

After having read a post on Google Trips that this district has the best buzzing bars and clubs for the best night out in Oslo, my expectation was sky high. The reality is a lot different. We were here after 11 pm on a Thursday and found the place to very quiet. There were barely anyone walking the streets and... More

Norway's answer to Shoreditch, but far less try-hard. Lovely area, with cool little shops and cafes and very cycle friendly. Wander right up to the Art Academy, and check out the campus - so beautiful.
