We took the wrong tram and landed at Sognsvann Lake by mistake and we weren't disappointed by our mistake. A gorgeous setting and a pleasant stroll around the lake made for an enjoyable afternoon. And it's only minutes away from Oslo Sentrum by tram.

In my travels through Scandinavia, this park made Oslo particularly memorable. I loved the time I spent here. I would heartily recommend coming here for some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. The people of Oslo are very fortunate to have this idyll on their doorstep.

I had a few hours to kill....so hopped on a metro (5) to Sognsvann.....off the train and after 100 metres, there's the lake. It took half an hour to stroll round....lots of joggers, pram pushers...very few bikes (for a change). Clean pure air and it's about 200 metres above sea level. The calm was great and there were probably lots... More

I've visited Sognsvann in all the seasons of the year and it's never been disappointing! The nature it's awesome, the facilities you find there as well and the environment it's just mor than you could expect. Go for it.

A nice lake that's not too far from the centrum. I enjoyed roaming around here for a while and taking a few nice photographs. An easy 1 hour walk around the lake.

I recently hiked around this lake with family on a sunny winter day and it was lovely. Lots of people out in the sunshine made it very festive. I can imagine it in the summer filled with swimmers. Lots of skiing trails into Nordmarka make it a great location for cross country skiing. Finally we found wonderful waffles at the... More

It's just a scenic lake, but conveniently close to Oslo city center. Twenty minutes from downtown Oslo, you can go for a run in fresh forest air. The path around the lake is approx. 3,5 km long and takes 30-45 minutes depending on your pace, much less if you are running. Picnic areas, swimming in summer, feeding ducks and people... More

Reccomend Sognsvann for a nice walk - suitable for a all-year-around activity. It can be very crowded on a sunny day - so make sure you`re not i a hurry. Still.. nice place easy accessible from the tube (t-bane).

We went to this beautiful lake in winter and it was completely frozen, we walked on the ice. There is also a very nice promenade around the lake, were you can walk in the forest with amazing views on the lake.

If you like to take a run or swim in the summer, ice skating in winter or skiing in winter time - Sognsvann is a great staring point. It is easy to access with the tram from the city center. But bring your own food and drink!
