Narvik War Museum opened its new exhibitions in a new building on July 7th 2016. Narvik War Museum is a continuation of the former Nordland Rode Kors Krigsminnemuseum. The museum has a large collection from WWII. The museum tells the stories of WWII in North Norway and the dramatic fight for Narvik i 1940. The museum has section devoted to universal questions related to war and human rights. The quality and design of the exhibition is exquisite and must be experienced!

I really liked the way exhibitions are presented in the museum. It's not only bald facts, but visual information presented in a logical sequence. Brings questions for us to think as a lessons learned from WWII. As mentioned before, it's also a peace museum. Definetely...More

This is a war but also a peace museum. You can find many history but also an experience about peace and war awareness for young generations. They also have activities, library and a very comfortable cafeteria.

Central Narvik location is convenient. Museum is new, has the most up-to-date technology, spacious, pleasant to visit. Museum assets are well curated and visiting while in Narvik seems very appropriate as Norway played a key role in WWII.

Located conveniently centrally, the building also incorporates the tourist centre. The Trigon sits outside. I went to this at the suggestion of an English couple I met in Bergen. I don't normally listen to the English but on this occasion...(read on, it's irony!) This is...More

I am not a spendthrift but this was a worthwhile ticket. In a relatively short time, you will learn about the unwilling involvement of Norway in WWII. You will be doing yourself a favor by going through. A lot of educational exhibits and displays and...More

Well-worth a visit. They have told the story of the battle for Narvik in a convincing way, using a variety of techniques. Good, genuine display pieces convey a sense of the importance of story. The museum is in the main library building - I took...More

Was expecting more actual info and detail re Narvik battles themselves - both in terms of sea battles and then the ground offensives Needs a broader scope and at the same time more voices from those directly involved - across nationalities Last part that questions...More

Hi! I know for a fact that they sell a wide variety of books at the museum. They are very helpfull at the museum, so I do not think it would be a problem to do some research if you ask them nicely.
