Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As the other reviewers already said, the river with the marble rock formations are spectacular but to walk there is not easy at the end - slippery ground and rocks, climbing is required. We are a fit couple and we got used to quite though conditions but even we had some difficulties, when going back to the parking lot I saw some people getting there with worse physical condition/much overweight/with very little children or fully packed with chips&other snacks, holding in their arms, and I wondered if they could manage to reach it to the very end...so get prepared accordingly, you would need your hands :)

We discovered this wonderful place 15 years ago by chance, the way to get there was real pioneering work. This year I had to go again and it was sobering. Easy to find in times of Google Maps and now open to tourists. Large parking lot for a fee, but almost no one is interested. The way to Slottet is good to go, the indications are not always clear. In the end you have to climb something, hiking shoes should be worn. This place is breathtakingly beautiful, one marvels at what nature is capable of, works of art. To protect this unique nature, we ask you to enter the marble barefoot, unfortunately few adhere to it. Crowds of tourists , who just rushed to take their spectacular selfies and circle their drones. We left early the next day to really enjoy these great impressions. If you are interested in nature, then with full parking do not even start. In nice weather to

Marmorslottet is beautiful! But there were new tourists showing up all the time, not taking their shoes off on the marble. Over time this will ruin the marble. People seem too busy taking their selfies there, for reading the general info sign. There should be a clear sign with «NO SHOES».
For people reading this, please respect Norwegian nature when visiting.

Bit hard to find but at the end of the rope you climb over the rocks, along the river (right side). A few rocks later you arrive at the „white“marble stones. There is also an official sign that you are now at the marmorslottet. I‘m not even sure if you can go there in spring time when it has more water.

We were here in July and unfortunately walked the wrong path as it was not marked what way lead where when the trail splits. Walked the wrong way for almost an hour before we turned around. Before you get to the river, there is a really steep part without any security of any kind. Would it be worth it if we didn’t go the wrong way? Maybe. Was it beautiful? Yes

We left to this trip only after seeing few pics of this beautiful place. We desided to go there with our kids (10y and 12y). Everything went smoothly but last 100m to the slottet was impossible (way too dangerous) to do without safety gear. We went down to the river but last stage was too much for us. I don't know if we took the right trail.

That was a dissapointment and we were a bit surprised that nowhere we did't see any warnings about it. Only mentioned "a bit steep"...

We were recommended this place by hotel.

We had difficulties to find it as first we followed the maps and ended up
at the information centre at Svartisen. If you go, please take the road to Svartisen and the cave but after the airport and a couple of km before the cave you have to turn left to the bridge. When you continue, you will see the signs.

As stated by many, the hike is easy at the beginning. Then just before going down you have to turn right to a small path which will lead you to the correct place. You have to use rope to get down.

We did not go till the end as there was too much water in the river and we were afraid.

Nevertheless, we took a number of beautiful pics and recommend a visit.

Do not forget your repellent!

The trail begins behind the house and then is good marked with wooden platform. The last 100m is difficult with rocks. Don't recemend with children. At the and there is a rope hanging over rocks and only this way you get stright to the view rocks. When rocks are wet is dangerous.

Great natural marble rock formation and amazing blue river water.

A small hike to get there, but the hike kan be a little though for some. There are two paths one longer with nice stairs and shorter one with a rope to go down.

It can be a little dangerous at the formation, so not recommended for kids etc.
