Visited the island by bicyle in July. A lot of tourist-traffic but south and north islands are worth a visit. The middle is not that breathraking.

Amazing drive around! Rent a car with GPS for sure. Lots of fun tunnels, lots of bridges, sometimes sheep on the road. We stayed in Leknes, I think that's a great central place, seems to have more than one restaurant and gas stations. Can be...More

If you are here for just a short time you have to get lucky with the weather. There is a really good museum made out of a squires home and fishing sheds/boats. Spectacular scenery around.

This must be one of the most memorable drive in the world, trough dozen islands connected by bridges, tunnels and ferries. One should budget at least three days to explore small roads off the main roads leading to hamlets, beaches and trails. You are always...More

We were there in summer - as a day stop on a cruise ship. It was light until about midnight and the scenery was stunning. I think the only issue in winter would be there is barely any daylight.
