Our friend drove inside this tunnel that turns and turns and turns! You need a strong stomach! Great experience and the view from the top was worth it.

It's a really nice place for people who like going for walks, enjoying nature and really beautiful views. Clean air and silence is an additional asset. The spiral itself makes a huge impression. Everyone who visits Drammen should visit this place compulsorily.

An interesting spiral shaped tunnel. Long of 1650 m, it was a fun drive up, specially with a car above 200 hp and a loud exhaust! It is also amazing the fact that you can see the rocky walls, as it is not a modern...More

Beautiful hiking trails and views. Look for the troll on your way up! Didn’t get to the open air museum, but will return to do so.

When Drammen needed harbor expansion they excavated a tunnel formed as a spiral to reach the top of a hillside overlooking Drammen and part of the mountains in south Norway. After 7 turns you reach the plateau with a restaurant, and walking trails going into...More

As the name suggests, this is a spiral-shaped tunnel digged into a mountain so that you can reach the top. It’s 2k long, if I’m not mistaken, so it can be quite challenging for a claustrophobic one (like me) but it’s absolutely worth it! On...More

The only known spiral tunnel in the world takes you from city centre to footpaths in the forests. Excellent view over the beautiful Drammen Valley, 180 degree view over the fjord. Restricted menu, but excellent food.

I love adventures and places that make me wonder why they look like they do. The Spiral is one of those. It is a tunnel winding up inside the hillside and very mysterious, ending up at the top of the hillside with a fantastic view.

It is open 7 until 23 Mon to Fri, and 8 until 23 Saturday and Sunday. The cafe is open 12 to 17. It costs 35 kroner toll to use the tunnel in the opening hours, and 350 outside opening hours (there is a toll/barrier).

In 2013 the price was 35 Norwegian Kroner for one trip. From Kongsberg it is approximately 39,6 km and 36 minutes’ drive according to the web.
