In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Oval church and dome
Jun 2019
Vienna has so many churches but it is amazing how unique each can be which is what makes them great. You have several Baroque churches in Vienna so how do you make your's stand out. build it in an oval shape and have a dome that rivals the Hofburg. In fact when finished in the early 18th Century, this church was the first dome in Vienna. In addition to incredible marble and gold leaf detail, the church has a gold and silver shrine opposite the pulpit to the martyrdom of St. John of Nepomuk. When I walked in there was a Saturday night Mass happening, but I was still able to see the interior and dome.

Attended a free mid-afternoon organ recital at this beautiful Baroque church. The church is very accessible in the Historic Center of the city.

Wonderful experience.

Beautiful murals
Jun 2019
Well worth a quick look in if in the area as the detail inside is exquisite. Beautiful paintings and murals in the domed roof and lots of gilding. Considering St. Stephens's is more well known, I think this boasts a nicer interior.

Artistic Church
Mar 2020
Interior design consisting paintings and sculptures is something completely artistic and professional. It is not a very big church, but a must see one.
Impressive decoration combined with candle light lets you feel holiness of the ambient.

Beautiful Church
Jul 2019
Tucked down a slight alley off the main walking area in the historic center, you'll find inside this church probably the most intricate design and detail of any churches here. More people flock to other larger churches nearby, but the level of detail and craftsmanship that's gone into the interior of this smaller church is astounding. Definitely how you picture old century Europe. It's truly a sight. Found there to be less tourists as well. Highly recommend coming for the classic ensemble concert as it's far less people than the larger, touristy-standing room only concerts in nearby concert halls. Fantastic visit.

Very Beautiful
Sep 2019
If you are in Vienna, this is one of the churches you must make sure you visit. Look for the fresco in the cupola. And much more.
