Especially if you are interested in History Honestly I did not expect much from the museum and being able to compare it to many international museums of that sort I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Frist, the building itself is something to behold of. Very nice architecture on both the outside as well as the inside. Excellent... More

Many learnings about the history of Austrian weaponry and arsenal. Also a good place to find some Hungarian heritage.

But there's also the Russian coat Napoleon wore onboard the ship taking him to Elba. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and the fact that we speak German possibly helped. The displays do not glorify war, but rather they intend to show the weapons, uniforms, procedures and often horrifying experiences of the combatants. Again, the WWI exhibit is particularly... More

We walked a fair distance to visit this museum. While waiting at reception the men behind the desk were chatting with each other. They stopped..looked at us, could see we were waiting to be served...ignored us and continued to chat amongst themselves with their backs to us. We waited for a good 2 minutes after this for their conversation to... More

We did not go inside the military history museum but the architecture of the building was extremely beautiful. We visited this museum while taking the hop on and hop off tour of the city. It probably might be good in case you have suffiecient time to visit the museum.

We did not tour the museum (would think it would be worthwhile), we were here for an evening concert, by a VERY TALENTED ensemble, which was a great treat!

Did not go inside but saw it from the top of the hop on bus. But as soon as it came in to my sight it took my breath

I have been trying to see this museum for 20 years but it seems to close at the slightest excuse. It was closed this week for All Saints Day whereas all the other major museums in Vienna like the Belvedere, Hofburg and Kunst Historisches were all opened. The fact that it was closed was not advertised on any of the... More

Superb museum in the old Arsenal building of Vienna. It's a bit of a mission to get to, so be sure it's your thing before visiting. If you do, the building itself is a real treat (probably worth the 6 Euro entry fee alone) before you even get to the exhibits. Exhibits are well laid out & if you're uber... More
