Not everyone sees this historical clock but if you find it its amazing. I am not saying that clocks are uncommon in Europe but this one doesn't work like others and seeing it animated is better than usual. Located 5 minutes towards the north of the city town square.

This is located in the Hoher Market area and was built around 1911. It is a colorful clock that operates every hour and depicts some historical personalities.. Worth a look if you are in the area.

It's a big clock and at 12:00 it starts to play. There are different figures which are passing in the front of the clock and the play different pieces on a organ. We were just lucky to be therw at this time but if you have the chance try to be there when it plays.

This is an interesting square in Vienna with a clock and fountain. There is also a good supermarket here and it is close to the Roman Museum and Stephansplatz.

It's really close to Stephansplatz and St Stephens Cathedral you just walk around the corner. It's more impressive at noon when there is 12 tunes accompany the 12 figures otherwise it's just a clock at other times of the day set high up on the wall.

An amazing timepiece. Historical figures move across the clock as music plays. Worth visiting at 12pm.

Visited St Stephen's cathedral and took in the many Baroque buildings and parks in and around the main centre of Vienna; took ubahn to Schonbrunn; Beethoven symphonies at Musikverein. Lovely place to visit. Don't miss the Anker clock at Noon, 12 tunes accompany the 12 figures.

Just stumbled upon his clock while walking around. It is very unusual but quite a beautiful clock that utilises historical figures to tell the time and plays music at noon. It is worth seeing if you are in the area.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
