We booked a private lesson for 3 people while my little sister sat and watched. The instructor was very nice, encouraging, and knowledgeable. We felt awesome waltzing around the room! Highly recommended for those who like to dance or have in interest in ballroom dancing.

I booked a private 1 hour dance lesson for me and my wife as something 'a little bit special'. Because of a change of plans I had to change the booking to a different time which they were happy to accommodate. The Dance School is well known, the owner is a judge on the Austrian version of Strictly Come Dancing.... More

While in Vienna, one should take the opportunity to learn how to waltz. So that's is what we did on our 4 day trip to this romantic musical city. We booked the weekly waltz class for city visitors on Saturday afternoon and it was marvelous ! Easy to book (by e-mail you do your request and promptly you get an... More

Taking a private Viennese Waltz lesson at Elmayer was one of the highlights of my trip. My instructor was a young man maybe 20 years of age who'd been dancing for 5 years. He was a great instructor. I was impressed with his level of professionalism and his manners were top notch. The hour started with learning the basic steps... More

I had some time to kill in Vienna. What to do - why learn the Viennese waltz, of course! Luckily I was able to sign up on short notice for a private lesson at Elmayer Dance School. I was nicely welcomed when I arrived and immediately introduced to my teacher, in business attire with dancing shoes. He was a lovely,... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
