We started with three big rooms full of rocks of different structures and substance, though to the untrained eye most of the distinguishing characteristics are lost. Once past the inorganic area, the museum offered stuffed animals and skeletal remains and creature floating in preservation jars. The prerequisite dinosaur area comes equipped with lots of bones and a small animatronic Tyrannosaurus.... More

An excellent museum by any standards. The range of displays and clear information given was more than enough to satisfy even a mild naturalist. A mixture of traditional and more modern display layouts meant the museum had a modern yet conventional feel to it. All displays were clearly informed in excellent English.

Before our visit we read about this museum, but we couldn't imagine it would be so awesome. Me and my wife and our children (4 and 8 years) was amazed how cool this museum is. 38 halls full of different show-pieces and artifacts. If you found time to visit it, you will get know more about minerals and meteorites, snakes... More

Had a very enjoyable time at this attraction. Suitable for all ages. The man at the front counter was a little rude but I'm going to put that down to a language barrier perhaps. Pretty reasonable prices for entry.

A good collection of artefacts, including the ever popular dinosaur exhibition. Great value for students at just EUR5 each for entry. Lockers and coat check also available.

The natural history museum was brilliant. I always try and visit any museums of places I visit and this one in particular was fantastic. They had a moving dinosaur which the kids all loved. My only big bare was the lack of seating. We walked around for around 2 hours and while we had a great time it would have... More

Budget more time for this museum. The exhibits were fantastic but don't forget to look at the structure and the rooms. This building is so beautiful. A must do

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
