A lot of things to see everythere. some rooms are more interesting and with much more explanations about the objects. In one room two people were explaining about insects with a big projector and was reallz innovative , the first time i see it, worthwhile visiting it. I enjoyed the experience really!!!!

Natural history museums have fallen out of flavor for me, but this one have a few highlights that made it a worthy visit for me. The impressive collection of minerals, the display of dinosaurs, and the Venus are very nice. The palace is the perfect background for this museum and its impressive collection.

The museum is a great place to go on a rainy day and very interesting place to wander around and learn. The museum is a very big, beautiful building, and is certainly worth a visit.

The NHM is a very big, beautiful building, and is certainly worth a visit if you enjoy NHM. If you're not a fan of rocks, just skip the first four rooms! The only thing we thought lacked was detailed information about the exhibitions, and english translations. Still a blast.

I am sure it was the best part of our trips to central Europe for my 4 and 6 years old sons. They enjoyed a lot and learned a lot too! designed very professional for both children and older visitors. I think it needs at lease 3 hours.

I visited this museum with my teenager son, who really enjoyed all the interactive activities. This museum is a must see - extremely well-kept and full of interesting things.

We decided to visit this museum as part of one of the hop on hop off tourist bus stops and spent a good 2 hours here. Cost - 6 Euro plus an additional 2 Euro to take photos. Don't agree with having to pay extra to take photos but that's part of the condition on entry so can you do.... More

Really incredible. Two floors with all the history of humanity inside. You want at least 5 hours to view it. You probably want more. Incredibly beautiful and the palace that hosts it. REALLY MUST GO, especially if you have children.

This museum is a must see and kids under 19 are free so entry is pretty cheap. The building is magnificent and if there was nothing inside it would still be worth visiting to have a look. The exhibits are pretty amazing and kept in such good condition. The African bull elephant has to be seen to be believed, the... More

I go here every once and a while, just because the building is stunning! The architecture (from the in- and outside) is going to leave you breathless. The exhibition is OK, with an impressive collection of minerals and stuffed animals - nothing I find too exciting.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
