We went there in February - even out of the season an interesting place to visit. There is plenty of parking (you have to pay at the machine) right in front of the building. The whole setting with the stages in the lake is worth a visit. It's open to the public. From there a 20 minute stroll along the... More

Arriving by boat behind the stage , the amazing view of the set, provided the perfect welcome to what was a spectacular performance . The music was beautiful, the last performance of turandot added additional passion and depth to the production. A must for opera lovers travelling through Lake Constance area in the summer months.

This was the second time we saw an opera at the Seebuehne, Turandot. The stage is unbelievable, the costumes, the orchestra and the singers, all outstanding. Even if you do not love opera and it is raining (as it was part of the performance), you will greatly enjoy yourself. Go, go, go...

At 9pm it was pouring and we thought they would cancel and were surprised and delighted when it started. Very heavy rain for 20 min and was sure they would cancel performance but then the rain stopped. It is an amazing experience but please go prepared for rain with as much waterproof clothing as you have -think hiking rather than... More

The stage itself is impressive construction and design allows to project sound from the festspielhaus and combine with live voices from the stage. Sunset adds great emotional backdrop

I have to say as a lover of the opera, one of my dreams had been to go see a performance here. So for me it was one of the ultimate lifetime experiences. The whole extended family went. We saw the 2015 production of Turandot which was fantastic. How they stage manage it all is a feat itself. Incredible and... More

The weather forecast was a little concerning for the 01 August performance of Turandot on the Seebuehne, but there were a lot of determined opera-goers with ponchos and slickers at the ready. During the second act, the threat of rain materialized, and the whole crowd quickly donned their rain gear while the show continued, to be rewarded with a cleverly... More

Unfortunately the timing of our visit to Bregenz was just a little too early to see the opening of their latest production, which happens to be Turandot. But as the staging and seating area seems to have been built on land that is part of a lakeside promenade the producers have to keep the path open when there is no... More

Any opera becomes entertainment for all through the use of the lake as full participant. Priests have been walking on water in Aida, thanks to an hydraulic bridge. The prince had his floating boat in the magic flute. Cranes operators moving part of the decor get standing ovations. Acrobats jump into the water. This year for Turandot, the Great Wall... More

We saw the final night of the Magic Flute, and despite niggling drizzle, the Opera, Performers, Orchestra and location was stunning from beginning to end. Turandot is the next scheduled opera on the lake-stage for the next two years, and I would strongly recommend getting tickets around midsummer- I can only imagine the spectacle on a lovely evening with the...
