Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum is one of the five state owned museums that visitors can use one combined ticket for the admissions. If you have a day to do museum hoping then this combined ticket @ €11 for adult or @ €8 for senior will be your right choice. I started my visit to Panorama Museum in Bergisel. I initially paid for... More

We visited the museum in conjunction with the Hof Kirche. It's extensive and the set up of the old photographic gallery was innovative. However...we would have liked more interpretation, the hat display had no information. The other galleries are themed, costume, slightly spooky as the pir's set the lights on and off as you walked round - but just the... More

Could have stayed in here all day...and nearly did so! Central location, near the Hoffburg palace. The ticket included entrance to the Court Church next door. Room after room, after room of all things Tyrolean, furniture, tools, cooking, clothing, insides of old buildings, birth, marriage and death. Far more than I was expecting to see. Great place for a rainy... More

What a great museum! you can stroll around and discover the huge diversity and richness of Alpine Folk Art and Tradition, including a critical reflexion on it. Highly recommendable.

We visited based on recommendation from the hotel. The church and tome are absolutely amazing. The museum was well set out. We would have liked more information in English to understand the exhibitions. It was OK for a short while.

The museum is not just about 'Folk Art' but also about life in the Alpine villages and local traditions and history. It is well worth while sitting through the film demonstrations.

I remarked to my partner on our first day in Innsbruck, today December the 23rd, that the Tyrolean Folk museum that we visited today seemed one of the best we had ever been to. The exhibits were extraordinarily vivid and we'll displayed, giving a huge insight into the history and culture of the region..and full credit to Innsbruck! Then came the... More

This museum shows the wide variety of folk art, handy crafts and wood working/carpentry skills, showing items used in the daily lives of the local people through the ages. Most items were used on a daily basis and crafted from local materials. Stunning wooden panelling/carving in the examples of internal rooms of their houses.

The museum wasn't on our original itinerary but I'm glad we visited because there was lots of interesting items to see, including traditional costumes and furniture. It sits within a former monastery and had a beautiful courtyard outside.

Thank Chelsea B
