Tiny bar with an array of wines by the glass as well as kirsch and liqueurs to try. No pressure to buy - and very good value for some class. Stand at the bar with the locals and drink in the atmosphere as well as the wine. Only drawback? No nibbles to soak up the booze....

We had a Spore liquour at a restaurante and couldn't leave Salzburd without buying some of these delicious liquours. Try them at the store!

Walked past this wine bar a couple of times and it was buzzing so had to so in - absolutely mobbed but great fun - people mainly drinking the schnapps they make there - good and strong - wine was good too.

Hey, if you are walking around Salzburg and need a nip to fortify yourself against the cold, stop in Sporer, most likely will be on your left, very small joint. Ask for advice if you don't know what you want, most likely someone there will speak English. Most of the customers are German speaking... Staff is very friendly People watching... More

My husband and I made it a point to find this darling place after hearing about it on Rick Steve's video. It was well worth the search. We had a few schnapps ( Mr. Steve recommended) and purchased a few bottles to take home. So happy to visit and learn about the history of the place by a worker there... More

My husband and I heard about Sporer on a Rock Steve's Austria episode and made a plan to stop by. It's a small space inside an old building towards the end of the main shopping street with a great booze bottle as it's iron sign. We piled in and found a place at the end of the tasting bar to... When my friends are shopping for souvniers and taking pictures around the old town , I am attracted by this bar ~ Sporer . Its around 5pm and Sporer is already packed by local people. This is a local brand ~ MICHAEL SPORER ~ a homemade liqueur and brandy with different flavours and aroma , the bartender is very kind... More

Do not expect a nice place with trendy furniture. Also dont require a private room if the croud has a Party in there. This place is unique. They offer their own Spirits as well as a selection of excellent wines. You might meet tourists, bank Managers, politicians, craftspeople or anybody else in there. Dont be surprised if you get in... A quick one hour visit to taste some Schnapps turned into a long afternoon tasting local wines and various flavors of Schnapps. The owners are very gracious and part of a family that has been in this location for over 100 years. We had a chance to spend time with the locals and they were extremely welcoming and interesting people.... More
