All in all, maybe because of the off season, the main square left us rather empty, as it was really empty :) It was beyond our expectations.

The Hauptplatz Linz is a nice place at every time of the year. I still prefer the warmer season, as there are many patios in front of all bars and Restaurants and it is a busy but peaceful place, where you can enoy great evenings...More

One of Austria's largest enclosed squares is an excellent starting point for your exploration of Linz. Before leaving, check out the Holy Trinity Column completed in 1723 to commemorate the town’s deliverance from war, fire and plague. All three tram lines pass through the Hauptplatz....More

The only place of interest in Linz City! Although it has a mixed history because during 1939 and 1945 it was named after Adolf Hitler!

Wonderful town square, set up with Christmas markets. All sorts of booths, from food to hand crafted items. A must see area during the winter months. Lots to see, smell and hear.

At the moment, the area is full of Christmas market stands selling all sorts! Plenty of food and drink as well, so a really nice experience. Bought quite a few unusual items for stockings...

The christmas markets are already open. lots of stalls with hot fruit punch, bratwurst, and crepes. Wonderful fairy lights everywhere and generally a great atmosphere. Theres also shops with trinkets and warm clothing if you didn't come prepared.

As far as we know the ships dock close to the Hauptplatz. It is a few minutes walk from the docking area to the Hauptplatz. Leave the ship and turn right - you should see the Hauptplatz after a short walk.
